John walked over to Sherlock who was sitting at the counter. John greeted the bar tender, took Sherlock's wrist, and helped him stand.

"I can -walk- John!" Sherlock hissed, pulling his wrist out of John's grasp.

And he seemed to be right. He lead the way out the exit and looked up and down the street. Something about Sherlock, being drunk never affected him. He could talk perfectly fine, walk perfectly straight, think perfectly annoyingly as always... The only thing the alcohol may do to him is get him a little... What's the word... Moody.

"What were you doing getting drunk anyway, Sherlock. Oh wait, don't tell me..."

"Experiment." They both said in unison, Sherlock giving a half shrug as if to say 'what else' and John just nodding.

John watched the man as he waved down a taxi, sliding in almost before it stopped, John on his heels.

"Wake me when we get there." Sherlock mumbled, resting his head on John's shoulder.

"Sherlock... Were just down the street... Must you really-"

"Yes, John. I must, really."

John sighed and stroked a piece of chocolate curl out of his face. This man was so wonderful, but could sometimes be very, very annoying.

John had tried shaking Sherlock awake, he tried talking to him, he tried everything, but nothing awoke the sleeping detective. So John scoped the sleeping detective into his arms and bride-carried him up the stairs, where, of course, at the top, he awoke and stared at John, noticing how he was being held.

"John? Put me down..." Sherlock said, staring deep into John's sapphire eyes.

John set Sherlock down, feet first, not breaking the connection of their gaze. If he stared deep enough, he could see, ever so slightly, that Sherlock was actually quiet drunk. Just the way his eyes didn't look like his own. That slight hint of... Being human.

"I want to do another experiment..." Sherlock muttered under his breath, still gazing deep into John's eyes.

"Oh?" John asked slowly.

Was Sherlock actually hinting what John was thinking? Did he actually want to kiss him too? John held his breath, waiting, wanting Sherlock to make the first move. He waiting in silence for what seemed like forever.

"Yeah... Yeah! I have to get started!" Sherlock said excitedly, running to his room and slamming the door behind him.

John stood there, just in the doorway of their flat, dumbfounded and slightly hurt. He thought Sherlock wanted to experiment on him...

John shed his coat and laid down on the couch. His mind was racing, and he was trying to make sense of something, anything. He could only get one thought straight: as Sherlock was standing right in front of him moments ago, inches from his face, he wanted ever so badly to reach out and kiss him.

John must have dozed off sometime on the couch, because he woke up with Sherlock watching over him.

Studying him?

John started with a jump, almost hitting his head on the detective's. Sherlock straightened and jotted something down on a notepad as John pinched the bridge of his nose.

"God, Sherlock... What in the bloody Hell are you doing?!" John asked, eyes shut as he sat up.

"Interesting fact here, John. Did you know your breathing patterns in your sleep change according to how close or far I am from you?" Sherlock looked at John's confused look and continued. "For example, if I was to stand over there, by the kitchen door, your breathing is deep, relaxed, slowly, steady, restful. But if I was to stand where I was moments ago, your breathing became more rapid, fast, shallow, nervous even. And if I was to touch you, as such-" Sherlock cupped John's cheek in his hand. "-and was to get close as such-" Sherlock kneeled down next to John, their faces getting closer. "-your breathing became, almost a pant... Yes! Just like that!" John was basically panting for breath now, having Sherlock this close. He couldn't breath... His touch was so warm and welcome and adorable.

"So?" John breathed, panting still.

"I don't know what its supposed to mean..." Sherlock said confused, not moving but looking away, thinking.

"I do..." John whispered slowly.

Sherlock gave him a look of happiness and excitement. It was so cute...

"Oh! John! Do tell!" Sherlock exclaimed, eyes wide in excitement.

"I'm going to show you..." John whispered slowly. "Let's conduct a little experiment."

With that, John cupped Sherlock's cheek in his hand, pulled him close, and gave him a long, slow, loving kiss on his lips, letting his tongue slide in to lick Sherlock's lips.

When John pulled back, he looked deep and lovingly into Sherlock's eyes.

"Oh..." muttered the detective as he pulled John in for another kiss.
