The visiuals are cool, and all, BUT...
It looks so OOC of him. Even if we forget about the whole "never kill a person" motif that wasn't present in first comics with him, he still wouldn't want this for Daltons. In "Dalton Cousins" he didn't kill them. In one comic the president sentenced them for death and Lucky Luke felt really sorry for them. And when Ma Dalton was looking for fiances for her sons, it later turned out that he gave her the idea to search among Native Americans.
Maybe I just misunderstood this picture. Maybe Luke is sad that it came to this and doesn't want to go after Joe to hang him to, but at first glance it seems to me like he's going to bring Joe to justice and make him pay with his life. Can you tell me which interpretation is accurate with the original concept?

You're totally right.
The purpose of this picture was to make a sort of "What if Lucky Luke was a mature american comic book".
It is not the spirit of Morris original comic, I'm agree with you.
