Description Okay... so far today, I've tried getting an idea to work in three different ways... I don't know if anyone saw what turned out to be a failure that I uploaded for a few seconds, but it was... well... a failure. After much tweaking... I trashed the idea and made something new. This was the result. Personally, I really like how this turned out.

When I saw this one I was reminded of one of my own. (Not accusing you of stealing ) [link] I really like how the thin lines seem so much more ethereal and I definitely love the little twinkles as well. Great looking fractal and very good job!!

You're right; they do look similar!

The whole thing is in almost a soft focus... but the blacks are a little grainy, so I'll go and re-render this one. I only rendered it at 1000 (now I usually render stuff at 2000... but it was taking forever to render).

Thanks!

Over since I heard that most of the high end fractalists go very high in their qualities, I usually stick to 10k honestly. It helps that I have a hugely powerful PC to handle it as well.

I'm using a cheap Dell laptop (Inspiron 1545). Surprisingly, it has 4GB of RAM, so it can do some stuff pretty quickly... However, At a quality of 2000, everything looks the way I want it to, so I don't need to go any higher than that... plus I hate waiting that long for one image to render. xP

I understand that. My monitor is huge so I usually have to render at a minimum of 1920 width due to my widescreen monitor. Needless to say, it takes about an hour for me to render images, which doesn't seem too bad with the quality. Some people really pay attention to that and say it is much cleaner for it.

For the images I use as desktop backgrounds, I usually render at 4000-5000, which generally takes 1-3 hours... it's better than when I try to render 720p animations and they take like... 3 days... xP

I still haven't done any HD renders myself. That is a looong time!!

I neglected to mention that this would make a fantastic desktop background, though of course I wouldn't use it without your permission.

Of course you can use it! I'd also be glad to render it at a different size to fit your screen resolution! Just say the word! xP

Looks like a photo taken with a multi-point star filter. Also looks like several super novas going off at the same time. Very crisp lines. It's not just the points of light that are interesting, it's the way the lines intersect that create another field to view. In other words there is much to see. My eye is directed to several different points of interest. Magenta, blues and purples, lots of color. Even the stars way in the background have that twinkle effect, you were very precise and didn't miss a thing. Really nice work. I, as always, look forward to more.

Hmm... kinda... but it looks... I dunno'... a bit cartoonish.. if you get what I'm saying?

I used a very colorful gradient and I'm pretty proud of how I managed to distribute it... I also used some gamma and lighting effects to get that shiney-sparkle effects... Thanks, and as always, thanks for your feedback!

Thanks! I yanked the other one down... it would have looked nice, but no matter what I did, it looked over-sharpened... and every single line in the picture was anti-aliased... It would have been great if I had gotten it to work, but after rendering it multiple times and much tweaking in Photoshop, it was hopeless...

You're very welcome! I notice that seems to happen when you feel like you have a great idea, and it just doesn't seem to come together. But then you come up with something completely different, and it works. Good job though. Your efforts paid off. Maybe you can give it another try sometime, if you feel like it's worth it.
