now it seems in the last few years Springer has changed from what he was... or rather what I thought of him when I was a child.These days he seems to have taken the role of Autobot officer leading the wreckers and having repaints based on army stuff, but when I was a Child I always seen him as Hotrod's Wise ass friend who turned into a futuristic sports car as well as an army chopper.
so when I did this I wanted to return to the idea of him turning in a sports car and being more of a friend to Hotrod then some commando leader.
when I've finished drawing out the chopper and car modes I will dump them in the scraps area

hmmm, i always felt like Springer was the Han Solo of Transformers. Rebellious and willing to bend the rules a bit if it gets positive results. And eventually he gets recognized for it, and has his own squad to command that shares the same mindset...the Wreckers.

Very nice work. Your view/interpretation of the character is a curious one. I have never stopped to think what I believe the personality of some characters should be.

Yea, Springer! He's one of my top fave bots. (You know - "If I can't be Prime, I'll be Magnus; and if I can't be Magnus, I'll be Springer." That sort of thing
And yes, I too am lovin' the sword.
I also like the idea of lettin' him be a young punk again - although if you ask me, the punk is still in there, full-force!

I'm not sure what you're getting at, I haven't really seen Springer in any of the other Transformers other than the Movie the series that takes after it.

well I have some good news and some bad. The good is they are going to make a Springer to be sold with Ratbat. the bad is they are repaints Springer is based on Evac from Cybertron and Ratbat is Sideways also from cybertron

I can't seem to get rid of the thoughts that the feet might be a bit edgy/unrefined, and that the image is not loaded with the same feeling as the others...
But still, awesome colour & style as always!

yeah I kept them simple given the low ground clearance of the car mode and how I wanted them to look flush against the leg in chopper mode a wedge shape was really the only think that could fit
