"The weight of the world is on my shoulders. ... Hella better than having it on my head though."Lineart commissioned by *Mekania for *Audley , colors desired by me, for me. XD This is Caria who was once a caryatid [a greek statue that holds up the roof of a structure.] Now she is human.... she reminds me of my art history day dreams. I was looking at slides of caryatids and concluded that such a situation would be worth bitching about. Her hair is actually brown, but the colors are not commissioned... well. *devilry ensues* All in all the refs gave me the impression of a strong woman, uninterested in men or constraint, living her own life.

Such is the trouble with typing instead of talking ... but anyway, you always say what you think, whether it's a compliment or a critique, so when I see you comment, I prepare myself. You shouldn't brace for anything, really. I really want to see your stuff suceed. Don't try to avoid the critique, try and embrace it. If I critique something it's because I thought it was generally worthwhile to do so. I almost never comment anymore on general stuff I fave. It's not that I don't have things to say, but mostly that I don't feel particularly engaged enough to speak.

I love the color composition! And your lines are always amazing to look at. How do you get those impossibly thin lines for the shading around her neck and stuff though? Do you make the picture really big, or is that actually done on photoshop, and not with pen and paper..?

It's mechanical pencil. I drew this at 8.5 x 11. I think they look so thin cause they've been downsized of course, but also they're lighter. Not black, like ink would be. I love not inking. O_o
