Description Little Lisa was only 9 years old, but to her it seemed her life was already a living hell. Her father left them when she was a baby, so for her entire life she’s lived alone with her mother. When her father left, her mother took a big hit. She cut off all connections and bonds to their family and started doing drugs. Sure her mother was some-what happy when she was high, but after it wore off, she was always severely depressed. Eventually, her mother started to date again. It was always late at night when she’d bring in a new man. They would hang out in the kitchen and joke around, but after a while they ended up in a fight. Lisa would always run to her room and hide in her closet, but that never helped the situation. Her mother would sometimes get knocked out one way or another and the man would take advantage. He would come up and try to have his way with her. She would cower back into the corner as far as she could, trying to avoid what she knew would come. Sometimes she’d slap him away or fight back, but he’d just beat her and get what he wanted anyway. The next day Lisa would tell her mother, and beg her to stop or help. Her mother never believed her though. She always blamed her wild imagination or yelled at her that she was just trying to take away her happiness. One day after her mother had just finished screaming at her; Lisa ran upstairs and packed her clothes and other necessities. It was that day she realized she was stuck up in this hell hole people called “world” all alone. With tears streaming down her face, Lisa ran out the front door. She didn’t have a destination in mind, only that she had to run away and never come back.

Little Nicole was only 10 years old, but her life was already a living hell. She was never a pretty girl, not ugly, just not pretty. She never had many friends either. They all seemed to think she was weird and they never got to know her. Maybe if they gave her the chance, they could see how good a friend she really was. Her problems didn’t just end at petty school things; there was also her home life. Her mother was depressed when they were left by her father, so she went off and married the first man she met. It was just her luck that that man turned out to be an alcoholic. He wasn’t one of those happy giggling drunks either. Oh no, he was full out abusive. When ever Nicole came home from her horrid days at school, there he was, smashed. He’d beat her to get out whatever frustrations he had. He would slap her repeatedly while screaming at her that she wasn’t loved, that she never would be loved. The next day at school bruises would form. Unfortunately, they weren’t the small bruises and cuts that you could hide with clothing or make-up. No, they were those big ol’ in your face bruises that you would have to be and idiot to miss. So, it was common knowledge to the teachers that something wasn’t right. They would ask her what was wrong, but no matter how much they coaxed, all they got were excuses. Always something about tripping or falling down the stairs. No matter what, though, the teachers could never get Nicole to talk about what truly happened, so the only thing they could do was leave it be. This continued for months until Nicole met somebody who knew exactly what she was going through. She didn’t know why she opened up to this girl, unlike everybody else. Nicole guessed it had something to do with their similar personalities. The girl’s name was Stacy and they became best friends. Stacy helped Nicole in any way she could. Whether it was getting her out of her abusive home or helping her with excuses, Stacy was always there for her, promising that they would remain best friends to the end. Until one day, when Stacy was walking home from school there was a drive by shooting. Stacy ducked, but it was too late. A stray bullet hit her in the head, killing her instantly. Nicole cried for weeks until she couldn’t take it anymore. She went to her room, keeping quiet not to alert her “father”, and packed her cloths and other necessities. With tears streaming down her face, Nicole packed her yearbook so she could get the picture of Stacy later. She was about walk out her bedroom when she heard her step-dad banging on her door. Looking around franticly she spotted her window and crawled out onto the fire ladder. She took one last look at her sorry excuse of a life before running off in some random direction. It was that day she realized she was stuck up in this hell hole people called “world” all alone. Nicole didn’t have a destination in mind, only that she had to run away and never come back.

Little Erica was only 11 years old, and already her life was a living hell. She was in a long lasting relationship with a boy who was 16. Everybody knew that she was, but what they didn’t know was that he was taking advantage of her. In the morning she would always have to take some kind of drug to dull the throbbing pain. One night her emotions ran a little too deep. Erica was a little scared, but the boy she was with swore that they were in love and that there was no use for protection. Not once did she think of the consequences as her boy friend said that they were living for today and not tomorrow’s satisfaction. A month went by when she noticed they her stomach was getting larger. Not thinking anything of it, Erica went to the doctors to see if she needed to go on a diet. But, what she found out changed her life. She was pregnant. When she got home, Erica ran straight to her boyfriend. After telling him what happened he slowly turned his back on her and told her that they were over. There was no way he was ready for a kid at his age. She ran home with tears streaming down her face. There was no way so could tell her mother, for Erica knew she would blow it all out of proportion. Not to mention they were on the poor side so there was no money for abortion. Erica quickly packed her cloths and other necessities before running off to the closest bus stop. It was that day she realized she was stuck up in this hell hole people called “world” all alone. Erica didn’t have a destination in mind, only that she had to run away and never come back.
