Description Chapter 5: Leaking Secret
~3rd person POV~
The weeks passed by and Kuro retained her typical routine of being an innocent, angelic girl in school, and accompanying Naruto through the nights as Phantom. After the incident in the forest with the older boys the children looked on at Kuro with completely fear. They still would stare in awe at all she did, but now she carried that air of protective aggression.
Kuro was sitting in her typical seat in class, with the seat beside her oddly vacant. She rolled her grey eyes as Iruka yelled out, asking where Naruto was. He ordered the class to stay put as he bolted out the door to look for him. Kuro sighed as she looked out the open window. It was a nice, warm day outside so Iruka opened the windows. Her midnight black hair rippled in the breeze, the ends brushing her shoulders. Kuro missed her older body, her long hair, her full figure, her crimson wolf ears, and her wolf tail…but for the time being she knew she had to stay in her young girl act. As the wind blew her thick bangs away from the right side of her face it revealed a scar that was slightly darker than her skin color. It was only scar on her entire body that she could not conceal. It got there from her first physical interaction with Fumetsu. He tried to dominate her physically since he was failing miserably at doing so emotionally, but the Uzumaki elders stepped in and reigned him in, with Kuro’s help, and placed him back inside her.
“Pssst.”
Kuro was ripped from her calm inner world as a hissing sound rang out from the other side of the room. Curious as to who it was she turned her grey eyes to the sound. A boy with brown ruffled hair was staring right back at her. He had very distinct red marks under his eyes and a puppy sitting on his head. Kuro knew there was only one clan he could belong to, the Inuzuka’s. She grinned inwardly as she stood and strode over to him, her steps so fluid that she could have been gliding rather than walking. As she reached his desk and stared at him with a gentle smile upon her lips, his own mind went blank. He just stared at her in complete awe, trying to muster any courage he had inside himself to speak. His puppy on his head yipped happily before wagging his tail so hard his whole body wriggled. Kuro smiled as she opened her arms and the puppy jumped off his head and right to Kuro. The boy stared in complete disbelief as to what his dog had just done, but of course Kuro understood. In the canine world, she had become a legend, almost a myth. She was known in their fairytales as the Great Alphess. So for this pup, it was like a story had just come to life.
“Hi there, I assume this is your dog, he is quite adorable.”
Kuro giggled quietly, its sound keeping the room quiet, each set of ears eager to know what she would say next. The boy blinked several times as his voice finally found him again, although it stuttered, something completely unheard of from this outgoing, dominating, and blatant boy.
“Y-yes. That’s Akumaru. I-I’m Kiba.”
Kuro continued to smile as she gently stroked the tiny Aku’s head. She handed him back to Kiba as her warm hands brushed his, giving his a tingling feeling all through his being.
“I’m Kuro. It’s nice to meet you. You called me over here, did you need something?”
Kuro asked sweetly as her head tilted like a confused puppy. Her big grey eyes glimmering with innocence. Once more Kiba, and the rest of the class, was frozen, completely struck by this girl. They all wondered who she even was, they only knew her by her name and the fact that she willingly hung out with the fox boy. She could feel the calm quiet all around her as she cleared her throat to gain Kiba’s attention again.
“Oh um…well you see…um….I-I just wanted t-to know i-if……um….you would like to um……”
Kiba had suddenly lost all courage in her presence, but Kuro kept her patience as she tilted her head the opposite was and smiled even more kindly, if it was at all possible. Akumaru was still wagging his tiny tail beaming up at Kuro as she reached down once more and ruffled the fur behind his ears.
“I wanted to see if you’d want to hang out with me after school today.”
Kiba finally forced himself to quickly spit out the rest of his thought. The calm quiet of the class suddenly turned to a high tension area. Kuro looked around, seeing the glares of every boy in the class falling onto Kiba and the angry and envious glares of the girls trying to pierce into Kuro. She did all she could not to burst out in laughter at how cute this kid was furiously blushing from his discomfort. She looked down to him, pretending to think about it for a moment. She really was pondering how her curse mark would react being away from Naruto during part of a mental schedule where they were usually together. She thought this would be an opportunity from Naruto to make some friends, even though she doubted with her whole being that he would agree to go…but she knew she’d be with him to protect him through the night as Phantom.
“I don’t see a reason not to. So, ok.”
Kuro giggled quietly as Kiba’s flustered face turned to one of shock. The whole class seemed to stop breathing for a moment as Kuro turned around and walked back to her seat.
Not even a moment later the door slammed open and a tied up Naruto landed on the ground, his goggles secure on his head. Iruka screamed at him once again, it becoming almost a daily occurrence. Kuro just rolled her eyes as she listened to his ranting before he sent Naruto back to his seat beside Kuro. Naruto’s sheepish grin turned into a pout as he plopped down beside Kuro, she turned a small smile over to him only for it to be returned by a full on grin. Iruka was still fuming as he declared that because of Naruto there would be a review of the transformation jutsu. Groans filled the small room as glared and scowls were sent towards Naruto. Kuro was able to successfully deflect most of them with her own look of anger. As the line solemnly moved after each person it was finally Naruto’s turn, Kuro just prayed for it to work this time. They had been training so hard together with it, but Naruto just couldn’t seem to get it. And sadly he pulled yet another prank. His sexy jutsu. Kuro laid her face in her palm as Iruka’s voice shrilled out once more and Naruto cowered slightly.
Kuro’s turn was last as Iruka took a deep breath and waved Kuro up. Kuro harbored a slight hatred for Iruka with the way he treated Naruto, so her glance up at him was more of a glare. Iruka recoiled slightly at her intensity, still to this day getting a feeling that he knew her from somewhere else. Kuro made no handsign and with no difficulty transformed, immediately getting into a fighting stance. Iruka nodded approvingly as Kuro reappeared in a plume of smoke. Naruto had a huge grin on his face as she praised his friend for such a simple act. Kuro ruffled his hair as he giggled.
Iruka finally called the end of class as Naruto went to run out. Kuro stopped him for a moment, giving him a wary look.
“Naruto, Kiba asked me to hang out with him after class today. Do you want to go with me?”
Kuro asked with much hope in her voice as Naruto pondered it for a moment, a look of hurt crossing his face. He suddenly nodded before Iruka grabbed him and looked down at Kuro.
“I’m sorry Miss Kuro, but this knucklehead has to go clean up the mess he made. He will have to meet you later.”
Iruka said as he had a very frustrated smile on his face. Kuro nodded roughly as she gave a glance to Naruto who was pouting once again. Kuro couldn’t explain it, but she had a good feeling about this interaction with those two. She turned slowly and walked out the door, only to come face to face with Kiba, who blushed profusely at her mere presence. Kuro smiled as she grabbed his hand and drug him out of the school and out into an open field. Kiba just let her drag him around as he listened to her quiet giggle. He was completely in a trance-like state just from being near her. As she stopped in the meadow she took Akumaru off Kiba’s head and put him in the lush grass. Akumaru started romping around within an instant as Kuro giggled and ran after him, motioning for Kiba to follow. Before Kiba knew it he was laughing as much as Kuro was.
Kiba suddenly froze as he grabbed Kuro’s arm, jerking her to a stop. Kuro looked back to Kiba with slight annoyance but her patient aura still radiating. Kiba only looked at her for a moment before pointing to the edge of the forest that surrounded them. Kuro turned her head as her eyes fell upon a light grey wolf casually making his way across the meadow to greet his Alphess. Kuro inwardly groaned, but she understood that all the canines didn’t know she was undercover. Kiba shook in his place as Akumaru ran back to hide behind his master. The wolf walked to stand before Kuro, his ears all the way back as he bent his head all the way to the ground in a deep bow. Kuro gave a small bow back as if giving a form of permission that Kiba had yet to understand. With that small nod the wolf bounded around Kuro, nuzzling her respectfully as he licked her jaw once. Kuro smiled kindly as her tender fingers ran through the wolf’s rough pelt. He glanced up at her again but saw an instructed look in her eyes and immediately bowed and scurried back off. Kiba touched Kuro’s shoulder blade to get her attention.
“What just happened Kuro?”
He asked almost concerned as Kuro giggled again. Akumaru came out from behind Kiba’s legs as he tucked his tail and tromped over to Kuro.
“Um, you know I’m not sure. Canines just seem to love me.”
Kuro grinned sheepishly through her lie. She just couldn’t let on about who she was, but she was just starting to figure out, that maybe keeping this secret was going to be harder than she ever thought possible. She shrugged as she grabbed Kiba’s hand again and went back to playing and training with him, trying to make him forget anything he just saw.
