Description This is something I have wanted to do for, literally, years. Since 2005 to be exact! It's based on the album cover art of a Placebo album with the same title. The second I saw that, I thought of how Darth Vader had to live with the knowledge that he was instrumental in his wife's death (manipulated or otherwise) and how he must have mentally kicked himself in the backside every time he thought about her. ROTS Had just come out and I was still buzzing from having seen it, so my mind instantly Star Warsified this. I had also just finished Uni and was on a complete art fast after having just completed my final major project, so this didn't get done when I originally thought it. Better late than never though, eh?

When Vader dreams about an alternate reality where Padme is alive and gave birth to their son, he couldn't handle the emotional impact and would wake up screaming. Poor Darth Vader, no matter how many officers you force choke for failing you, you can ever forget about what happened on Mustafar.

Madame actually, But thank you! It's what I immediately thought of when I first saw the actual album cover years ago. There had to be a lot of anguish there, especially after Palpatine literally places all of it on Vader's shoulders, no mean feat, but a lot of grief to carry for all that time. Thanks again!

Palpatine definitely lied to Anakin, he knew that if he told the truth then Vader was likely to go off looking for either one of his children. I don't doubt that he knew about them, but keeping Vader's focus on being his apprentice and doing his bidding was tantamount to Palpy's success really.

I liked the song 'Sleeping with Ghosts' but not too much else from that one. I remember buying it around the time I was getting into all that GG stuff.
An Anakin and Padme rendition of 'Running up that Hill' would be interesting, the Within Temptation version is quite apt too.

Bittersweet isn't it? Doesn't help that Palpatine lied to him in a sense at the end there. Of course we all know where that gets old Palpy, so there's some sense of justice in a way, and at least Vader is redeemed in the end.

No villain should be two dimensional, I always identified with the bad guys more in movies like that I think it was more a "bad guys have more fun" thing story writing wise though.
