Fantastic work. I had no idea something like this was even possible! Congrats on a well-deserved if very belated DD!

haha thanks. I don't think a lot of people can follow crease patterns so its not that big of a surprise I guess XD

can you make a glaceon? that would be so awesome.
I love how you can make something out of an ordinary piece of paper.

Blue-Paper In reply to RoaringLeo [2010-06-30 23:00:49 +0000 UTC]
technically, yes. its certainly possible and I think I may have even seen one done before (don't remember where).
But I have little to no interest in making one myself because pokemon frankly just doesn't interest me that much. and if I were to consider designing a pokemon, glaceon wouldn't be anywhere near my first choice

RoaringLeo In reply to Blue-Paper [2010-07-01 00:10:03 +0000 UTC]
what pokemon would it be then?

Blue-Paper In reply to RoaringLeo [2010-07-01 01:13:06 +0000 UTC]
like I said, pokemon doesn't interest me much. so in the incredibly unlikely event that I would make a pokemon, it'd likely be first gen pokemon.

Simply amazing! This guy looks great! It may have been asked already but did it take you a few tries before you got this origami to work?

Blue-Paper In reply to Neosun7 [2009-07-30 02:51:24 +0000 UTC]
Thanks! ^_^ I always take a few tries to make sure the design works and that I can acheive the desired look.

Any chance we can get a step-by-step? I'd love to try and make one. ^_^
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Blue-Paper In reply to Rabid-Weasels [2009-07-06 19:29:34 +0000 UTC]
Probably not. Diagrams would be very time consuming for me to make and the model itself is quite complex and hardly even has an exact folding sequence. I can give you it's crease pattern if that's of any use: [link]

Rabid-Weasels In reply to Blue-Paper [2009-07-06 22:38:54 +0000 UTC]
Dang. Alas, I'm not good enough with origami for crease patterns to make much sense at all to me. I can follow directions, but I'm no good at making my own or trying to problem solve from a pattern. Thanks for replying, though.

It is around 3.5 to 4 inches tall (I don't have it with me, so I'm guessing). And thank you! ^_^

Blue-Paper In reply to kin-sedren [2009-07-06 19:26:25 +0000 UTC]
No. Diagrams would take me too long to make, and frankly, the model doesn't even have an exact folding sequence either. However, I can provide you with a crease pattern, if thats of any use: [link]
