Hey everyone! As I mentioned before, this March is the 10th anniversary of when I first came up with The Dog Days of High School. I've brought back a couple old characters, but now, without further ado, it’s time to introduce a brand new character to the roster! Ladies and gentlemen, making her debut, the spectacular, the sensational, the spellbinding…Soraya Sibérie!!!

Bio:
Soraya Sibérie grew up in a wealthy community in Paris, France, as the daughter of lawyer and politician, Stefan Sibérie. Throughout her tween-to-teen years, Soraya has had a strained relationship with her father. She started practicing magic at the age of 9, and became fascinated with the art, much to her father’s disdain, as he wanter her to follow in his footsteps and become a politician.
At the age of 16, while donating some old books to a used bookstore for her father one day, she discovered a particular book that seem to be calling out to her in her head. The Astral Arcanium, a compendium of ancient sorcery, along with a mysterious purple jewel. Intrigued, Soraya purchased the book and began reading and practicing the magic and incantations within it. Her father quickly caught on to the book, stating that he was fed up with her frivolous obsessions, and that was time for her to grow up. This resulted in an emotional argument about how Soraya‘s father never supported her dreams, and in a fit of rage, Soraya recited a spell she read in the book that she thought would change her father‘s personality. But she messed it up and instead, it accidentally erased her father‘s memory of him ever having a daughter. No longer recognizing her, Stefan accused her of being an intruder and kicked her out of his home. Soraya snuck back in that night using her magic, packed up all of her belongings, and she was now on her own, homeless and parentless.
After a while of further mastering her new powers, Soraya signed up for a talent competition run by this talent scout named Shep Rufferson. After blowing him away with her magic skills, Soraya became Shep’s new client. Though it took time to reach it, Soraya became the most popular canine magician the world has ever known, with her new agent scheduling her performances around the world. And even if she sometimes misses her old family, Shep became more of a father figure to Soraya than her biological father ever did.
As she continued to study the Arcanium and master new spells, Soraya eventually began to understand the true purpose of the gem that came with the book. The purple jewel, that she now wears on her golden necklace, contained the soul and memories of a real ancient sorceress who has seen Soraya’s passion and potential, and has chosen her as her next predecessor. So now, in addition to being a stage magician, Soraya moonlights an actual enchantress, keeping the Mundane Realm (the real world) safe from mystical and monstrous invaders from the Arcane Realm, with Shep being the only one who knows her secret identity.

Personality:
Soraya is confident, stylish, and enthusiastic young magician who treats the world as a stage. She is incredibly passionate about what she does and she loves to lift others up with her magic, bringing them the same kind of wonder it brings to her.
She presents herself with a very theatrical personality and speaks dramatically in the third person, but offstage, she’s not as egocentric as she seems. Though still flamboyant and glamorous, she’s a very kind, humble, and compassionate individual. She's an adventurous type who loves traveling the world and seeing new things, but she has a tendency to feel lonely since Shep is basically her only friend.
As her sorceress persona, Soraya is an incredibly powerful and strong spellcaster. Even with a few short years of self-teaching, she has already become masterful as various types of magic, such as telekinesis, energy blasts, hypnosis, pyrokinesis, shapeshifting, and force fields to name a few. She’s a beautiful, enchanting sweetheart who can obliterate an otherworldly threat in half a blink of an eye. However, she doesn't like people calling her ‘a witch’. She finds it rather offensive, and more importantly, very outdated.
Outside of magic, she also enjoys music and dancing, and sometimes tries to incorporate them into her performances. Imaginative, ambitious, and a bit whimsical, Soraya is always trying to come up with new creative spells and tactics to spice up her act. She has an “Almost There”-type of positivity, having always dreamed of performing in the big cities like New York. She’s also got a mischievous streak, since she’s not afraid to misuse her magic from time to time; not to an extreme, but just to get something she wants, mainly the adoration of men. Flirty and seductive, Soraya truly longs for an adorable partner to be her lovely assistant in her show, and perhaps a certain German Shepherd boy in New York City will fit the bill.
