  Personality/Background: Obsidian is the only son of Speckle, having two older sisters. He is quiet and reserved. He doesn't say more than he needs to(except if it's about gems). Like his mother, he enjoys the water, moreso for collecting seashells and looking at fish than swimming. Sidian also has a love for flowers, like his sister Limelight. While he may not say much, he is very observant, taking in all the little details. This proves to be helpful in the long run, as finding gems with flaws in them makes them all the more desired.

  Relationships: Obsidian's relationship with his parents and sisters is rather… indifferent. He tends to hide his true emotions, putting on a bored,expressionless mask in front of others. That mask comes off when he is around his grandparents, however, and his happy self comes out in full force. Visits to his aunt Dewdrop are common, much to his disliking, as he has to put up with his prim and proper older cousin Jewel and his ever too happy, annoying cousin Molten. As for his niece and nephew Rosebud and Dusk Spark, the feelings he has for them are neutral. He has a special connection with his mother's friend's daughter, Pixel Bit.

  Special: Obsidian takes a liking to being outdoors, usually by himself to explore his surroundings. He also likes rock climbing and cave spelunking. Like his parents, reading is one of his favorite past times, preferably action stories. At night, stargazing in the woods is his way of ending an eventful day.

Fun Facts:

Due to his grandmother on his father's side being a pegasus, Obsidian carries the "fluffy" trait. Momma Speckle loved doting on her fuzzy lil babu whenever he was embarrassed(which was often) as a colt. As an adult, he still puffs up when Pixel cat calls him about his "cotton ball tush", which happens more than he'd like to admit.

Obsidian is the lead vocalist in his family's acapella group, Fam Five. He also sings baritone.

As much as his cousin gets on his last nerve, Obsidian cares deeply for Molten, even offering to have him be his partner for digs and cave spelunking. The pair eventually got closer (platonically), which led to the earth pony taking a higher liking to stallions.
