It's actually funny about Airdramon. After viewing a few Digimon shows when I was little, I went to create the boy who would eventually evolve into Dan, and when selecting his Digimon, I wanted an existing one for more authenticity. I found a site that had info about the first V-Pet that Agumon and Betamon were part of.
Naturally I selected Betamon.
Airdramon came into the equation because I noticed Adult Digimon shared features with their Child forms sometimes. So I chose Airdramon because to me his wings looked like Betamon's fin.
I was never really partial to Seadramon anyway. Hence why ModokiBetamon became Shellmon instead. >D

Guess you liked Betamon more or wanted to be more original than the rest. Interesting reason to chose Airdramon. I remember my very first Betamon in the WS Version of the V-Pet becoming Airdramon.
Seadramon: But I'm so much better than those Losers. Do you see another Airdramon? Or more than MoriShellmon as another Shellmon? For me, there is normal, normal X, Mega, Mega X, Waru, Metal, Giga and Chaos! Beat that Airdramon! I'm also the In-Anime Evo. And unlike those Losers, I exist in the original V-Pets aswell as the the Pendulums.

I stopped really watching it after Lost Galaxy, my favorite season, though I would still catch an episode when I could after that. I'm thinking about maybe watching it again now that it's the first Mighty Morphin Power Rangers back on the air.
