The newest V-Jump issue revealed another new character, a detective named Kyoko.Seems the name of the game lately is (In Seymour Simmons' voice) DETECTIVES ARE HOT.
So hot she makes Angewomon and Mervamon look formal by comparison.
Her design makes it clear Bandai's attempting to woo an older audience, not that Rina wasn't a huge hint. Now I admit I don't mind a little fanservice, but this is a bit much for my liking. I mean, who would take Princess Pretty Panties here seriously? On the other hand, she probably gets what she wants out of her adversaries. I mean, after all, look at her "credentials".
While she's depicted as being a Tamer, that is having 01's floating around her person, she's not accompanied with a Digimon.... or is she?
Only her car is seen by her side, which seems a bit odd that they'd highlight what probably is a generic vehicle. However its hauntingly familiar paint job and digital decals around its hood suggest it might be much more than meets the eye.
Some minor fan theories being tossed around suggest her car is actually Alphamon in disguise. The aforementioned paint job and decals strongly hint at the idea, and the car itself appears to be an "Alfa Romeo Montreal", so hey, a play on words!
Some have naturally dismissed the idea of "DigiFormers", but as usual people forget that DigiFormers are indeed a thing: Imperialdramon, Damemon/Tsuwamon, Duftmon, Dorulumon, pretty much everyone in Xros Wars being a Combiner, and so on.
So while I don't expect such a variant, I whipped up a version of Alphamon with Montreal kibble on parts of his body for fun.
I'm aware he kind of resembles Bumblebee (G1 and Movie), but that wasn't intentional.

While I'm not much of a fan of rebooting the first season of Digimon, the idea of Alphamon disguise as a car in the real world and running around normally in the digital world sounds pretty awesome.

However, I dig the car especially if it is a Alphamon.
I know everyone is all excited about Digimon Adventure (2015) but we still know nothing about it. Not enough for me to get hyped over as some people are.
At least Cyber Sleuth is something I can chew on until I find out exactly what their doing with the new series.
This is may be a bit pessimistic view on things but it seems like Toei is just pandering to the base. Which is all fine and dandy but are they going to do something with it or is it just fan-service. If the latter is the case, I would liked it for them to make new series like they have done in the past. That's too risky though in the current market so Toei is probably placing their bets on something they know will sell. Never underestimate the power of Adventure fanboys.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed Adventure. I even enjoyed 02. The only Digimon series I have any strong negative feelings for is Young Hunters. I don't want another one of the latter.

Yup, I did, and you made some good points.
I have a few Zone-centric ideas about a prequel to Adventure 2015, most of them involving Reiji/BlackWarGreymon and Selector, but outside of that I agree. I can't find anything to get hyped over.
Pandering sounds very likely, but you know how fans are: never satisfied. Even when they get what they want, they'll still complain and their wrath will be felt like a couple thousand wasps stinging you en masse. As you said, never underestimate fans...
I dunno though, it's a tad risky no matter what they try, though given the circumstances I think I would have preferred a new series over another sequel.
Heck with the topic of Alphamon being a DigiFormer, some people have speculated such a concept could be an interesting one to see in a new series. DigiBrave in the future?

Which is why we probably won't get these games over here and why they pushing for All-Star Rumble
because it is more familiar and less risky of a venture. If it doesn't sell and I think it is safe to say to kiss
those hopes of Western release goodbye. I could be a bit negative, but I don't know.
Like I said, once I more about it then I might have some reason to be hyped.
As it stands, I am somewhat happy.
Trying to please everyone is impossible. Especially for something this dear to so many people's
childhoods. This is a good idea in theory but I don't it works as well on paper. The only thing I can
say is, "Let's wait and see".
At least with a new series, nobody would have much expectations for it and thus you don't have as many
fans to disappoint. If said series ends up being good then more power to them. Heck, they could make sequels
and spinoffs if the series was a success.
Sounds a like potentially good idea but I feel like it's sort of limiting in what Digimon they could use. I don't know
you could make it work? I am not saying it couldn't work but I could see then angle that could take such an idea.
It could be fun is what I'll say.

Like you said, you can't please fans, and a new series certainly wouldn't please those who have been waiting for an Adventure or Tamers revival for years. All the Frontier/Savers/Fusion hate is ridiculous.
Maybe something of a limit, but I dunno one could get creative with it. Beyond obvious mechs, other DigiCores could inhabit other objects like statues, toys, boxes or pencils since, as we've seen, Digimon can assume the shape of just about anything.

To be honest, I like Agumon but I think he is a bit overused.
Another unpopular opinion of mine is that I like Saver!Agumon more then Adventure!Agumon.
I like Shoutmon too.
The Frontier/Savers/Fusion is ridiculous and blown out of proportion and this is coming from a guy
who liked Tamers a lot. They aren't even bad spin-offs just different.

The Alphamon in disguise in awesome, however I can't say the same about Miss Kyoko here. I just look back to the good ol' days when the Tamers in Digimon Games were easy on the eyes. But still, I like what you did with the design for Alphamon here, and I really like those door wings(?) on his back. Kinda makes you wonder what Bandai's gonna do next; have Omegamon transform into a Lamborghini?
