Meteora Monastery Misty Morning - North West Greece. Spring 1996.

This shot shows one of the much photographed monasteries at Meteora (lit. "rocks in the sky") in northern Greece. The inaccessible location was chosen to protect the monks against temptation and the occupying Ottoman Turks. The mist produces a different effect from the more usual clear blue sky.

This is a great shot, it looks very beautiful and if you would not write it in the description I would not have noticed it is scanned from an earlier photo - thanks for sharing!

Thank you for your kind comment. If you click the "Download" button it brings up the full size picture and you can make out the graininess of the film, especially in the sky to the left. A bit of processing in software helped reduce that.
