Description

Recently I bought this relatively rare Roman coin with a decent price($20). Probus is one successful and competent Roman (Illyrian) emperor,but assasinated by rioting troops for too much civic construction work imposed on them.

The legend on obverse is surprisingly simple,only Probus PF AVG ;the reverse is Jovi holding sceptre and wielding thunderbolt (Iovi cons Prob AVG).

This is post is for my great friend,art historian and much talented artist Andibi,as part of our "share your collection" activity. I hope more friends and watchers will join this project and eventually build up an little virtual museum with dynamic,updating collections.
