Leafs (RAW correction + sepia filter)Today I decided to make some new photo.
Here it is
Photo taken with Canon 50mm f/1.4 lenses.

Такие колючие на вид!)) Мне нравится что края листочков такие четкие, а сами листья очень текстурные, интересно разглядывать.. ) и сепия сюда как нельзя в тему ))

зеленые уж совсем скучные были, хотя так как-то дико смотриться.

цветовая гамма прикольная, золотые листики красиво смотрятся.
красивый рельеф листика, очень четко видно его структуру.
а теперь моя будет критиковать
-баланс страдает, левая часть фотки перевешивает, справа все темно, а слева куча объектов.
-самый ближний листик.. не нравится не столько его размытость, сколько отражение света от него, оно заставляет на него обратить внимание, когда ты его сделал вне фокуса и по задумке он не является основным объектом.
так что я буду сегодня злым и нехорошим и фав сегодня не поставлю
а вообще достаточно красиво, выглядит приятно

ух, какие вы сегодня многословные
некоторые фотографы считают тяжелым черный цвет. я крутил этот кадр пока его выложил, предпочел этот вариант. в данном случае выполняется боянистое правило 9 частей (там где про движение глаза ). да, вертикальная композиция была бы уравновешеннее, но она совершенно не смотриться. впрочем, с критикой по поводу баланса согласен, оно заваливается не смотря на черный цвет.
о блеске, честно, даже не подумал. да, пожалуй ты прав - он отвлекает глаз. нельзя долго обрабатывать кадры - происходит какое-то странное привыкание. классно если в доме (или хотя бы в аське ) есть опытный фотограф, который может вовремя что-то напомнить

ну ты меня давно не спрашивал по поводу обработки, хотя я увы давно не давал тебе до выкладывания достаточно умных замечаний.. надо меня сначала конвертить в правильное настроение

знаешь, а я даже после критики оставил бы фотографию такой какая она есть. я не знаю как правильно исправить балансировку. затемнить пересветы - можно , но мне кажется белый цвет как-то хорошо дополняет кадр.
да, управлять настроением людьми - это круто
а вообще спасибо за критику, а то есть за помощь

I don't know if it's the sepia tone or the leaf itself, but I almost get a feeling that the material of the leaf is something similar to tinfoil. I think it gives it a surreal / clockwork feeling to it. That eerie feeling mixed with the darker gradient of the background meshes well I think.
I think the cropping is good in that the focus is in the center but the massing is asymmetrical so it doesn't overpower the background gradient color.
I'm trying to find something that I feel could be improved upon because I personally hate it when critiques only contain praise and no notice of faults but I can't seem to find anything that I feel is wrong with it haha. I love it!

yeap, strict critique is better than praise, but I'm really glad that you like this photo. yours comment amazed me, you have very sensitive vision.
sometimes I want to make minimalistic photo - this is one of them. such photos easier to make ideal, my new f/1.4 lenses help me with this as well. unless I have some fault here, I didn't get third leaf in focus. it was impossible with 1.4-2.8 F-number. something else?

Ha, yea I was going to comment on the burnt-out quality of that left-most leaf but then I thought that maybe it was done on purpose to give contrast to the sharp focus on the center leaf. It did hurt my eyes a bit to look at that leaf but at the same time I think it's more of a personal style whether or not that's focused, it's fine out of focus I think.
I'm still working with a 3.5 - 5.6 since I'm a poor student, so your 1.4 is ages beyond what I can afford haha. My camera probably wouldn't even get the clarity of your photo, it'd also be way too dark. If it was me and I REALLY wanted that third leaf in focus I'd composite two photos (one with higher f stop for the leaves and one with lower f stop for the background), but I can't presume to tell you how to take photos, you've done such a great job already haha.

you can try Canon 50mm f/1.8 it isn't expensive and have really nice bokeh. I recomend you Capture One 4. this is programm for RAW-corrections. there are many useful features. relief, clarity and color manipulations are most interesting. all adjustments create only low level noise. I think, this is the best programm for RAW.
you idea with another deeper shot is great. I'll try it in the same situations, but I think it's will be difficult to make identical photos.

hmmm, ok, I'll take a look at Capture One 4. I've been sticking to photoshop as an all-purpose program and using photomatix for my HDRs.
I was actually thinking about getting a wide angle lens as my next lens (probably the Canon EF-S 10-22 seeing as how I'm working with a rebel xti), but the 1.8 or an equivalent was next after that so I could upgrade my current "all-purpose" lens.
Thanks for your recommendations, I'm a bit new to photography but I've been trying to learn, it's great to get advice from people who have technical experience.
