I'll never get tired of looking at infra-red photography, incredibly magical settings that can be captured. It's a very handly filter that turns the average greenspace into a fantasy world. Love your perspective here - what kind of camera are you using?

Thanks for your comments. I'm using a Canon G3. Not the most fancy-dancy SLR camera in the world, but extremely portable, and to me, that's the most important thing.

excellent photograph! the blue hues and tones really accent this piece and the angle and cropping is excellent. it's interesting though how the trees seem to meld with the sky like clouds.

Yeah, digital can save you a chunk of money and time, that's for sure.
Yes, there is colour IR film. Kodak is the only company that currently makes it (slide film) and it's normally used for arial photography or for checking on the health of forests. It's pretty expensive to buy and process and everything, and a really finiky film. If you ever want to try it shoot me a note and I'll give you some tips on some quirks I found with using the stuff.

Ooo, pretty...but I'm confused, this isn't IR film, or else in colour the trees would be pink, it has the "haunting" look of IR film, but where did the blue come from?

I shot this digitally, and was able to change the color to b+w on the camera - thus no pink. I then pulled the photo into Photoshop and tinted it blue.

Ah, I've never tried shooting IR digitally..one because I don't have a digital camera capable of that, and two I've noticed some of the IR settings on digital cameras aren't exactly what you get with film. Must be some difference in the way the film and digital camera recieve the light. But it's probably cheaper to do digital...colour IR film will set you back like 30 bucks a roll.

I swear, you take a fairly ordinary shot and make it something...more. You just put this level of thought into it; it seems effortless but at the same time it seems like it would take quite some time.
