Description Continuing in the Oz theme, here's a take on the Witch of the West and a flying monkey. I went with a more bombardier look for the monkey because monkeys in people clothes is always funny, and because I like the idea of a monkey in an aviator helmet (fez and vest is cute and all, but its been done. Besides, the fez would fall off in high winds). I also wanted them in goggles, because unprotected flight without them is just plain unsafe. I also like the bat-like evolution of the monkey's forearms and hands instead of shoulder wings, which are unnecessary because monkeys have hand-feet and can still grab and manipulate stuff without needing an extra set of arms.

I love all your Wizard of Oz inspired works this week. You're takes on them are all very cool. Did you see Wicked recently though? Why all the Wizard of Oz stuff?

Nope, haven't seen Wicked. Heard the soundtrack a while back. Fun stuff, but no, just some designs I've wanted to play with again for a while, had the scarecrow done for a long time and when I hit on a Tin Man design I finally liked, the other stuff just followed along.

I haven't seen Wicked yet either, but I love the soundtrack. I know what you mean about the whole hitting a cord and rolling with it -ness. Unfortunately most of the things that follow the original inspirations aren't nearly as good

I hadn't thought of wing-arms. Too literal minded at times.

Quite cute.
