WHEW.I've been working on this the whole week-end. I rarely ever put more than three or four hours into the colouring of an illustration, but this required a good 8+ hours I think, but I'm glad I did because it's been a while since I did something as complete.
It's Florence, from my novella La petite révolution (The Small Revolution) [link] I realized recently I'd never drawn her in context, so I figured it was a good opportunity to practice drawing backgrounds. I'm not fantastic at it and I still have lots to learn, but I think it's not too bad for a start. I'm happy with it.

I enjoy the overall feel to it, and dont worry about the background thing a few hours practicing perspective will get you rollin and really confortable with it!

I don't know if it was intended, but it is humorous to me that the arrow on the drum is facing the "correct" way... right next to a defaced political sign calling for Anarchy. A little Ironic, is all

The pale colours are wonderful. You brought them out so well. And I've always been fond of Florence's design. She's a very interesting character.
