Her last date left without letting her out of the cage. Not that anyone knew where the key was, but any tool shop would have happily sold him a hacksaw or bolt cutters. Instead he just left after putting her phone on the table next to the cage. He liked her taste of bondage and he loved that she greeted him already safely locked away in her cage. But otherwise they just weren't a match and so he just left after stating that a non-match just wasn't worth the hassle of getting to the tool shop.
Eventually she had to call a locksmith or the firefighters, but in the moment she was enjoying herself too much, helpless stuck in her cage.

Except, maybe, whoever cursed them in the first place. After years and years she was used to living in chains. She actually like it.
But it would take lots of broken tools until the typical firefighter admitted defeat.
