What luck; two active, intelligent girls grace our stables! Both highly resemble their mothers in build and have a hint of their fathers' size and character.

Belligerence, or Needle as we call her, takes her names from both parents. "Averill" means battle or fighter, and Arya from A Song of Ice and Fire is a sharp and scrappy little girl who demanded her own sword, which she named Needle. Though her name means "warlike", Needle is sweet and social and gentle. When she arrived we were looking for a buckskin much like Boss- something more golden. But what a surprise, a buttermilk buckskin! A beauty she is too. Our baby drums don't make quite a matched set, despite being buckskin tobianos, but they'll be amazing show horses some day. Right now she's got grey-blue eyes, and we'll see if they turn brown or light as she ages. She didn't seem to get her sire's sabino, so no big face markings for her.

Honey Butter Biscuit, now she's all kinds of sweet and adorable filly. She answers to anything, including the names of other horses and people. She wants to be in the middle of everything, especially your lap. She wants your love and attention and is overjoyed constantly as long as she's not alone. Active and bubbly, she keeps the other foals on their toes and gets along great with Needle and Loud. Her color was a bit of a surprise- generally Belgians come in light flaxen sorrel with mealy and dapples, like her dam, or medium to dark flaxen chestnut, like her sire. She seems to be a rich medium chestnut with massive amounts of mealy! As she ages the extent of mealy and lack of dapples might change, but it is hard to say for certain.
