Interesting composition. Judging by the title, I'd say the picture is religious in nature; Christian most likely? The man appears to be wearing a robe attire similar to that of a monk's. His hands nonchalantly folded atop a bible. The bread represents the Eucharist, or Jesus Christ. The bread is is placed in the anatomical area of the heart further strengthening my preconceptions regarding this beautifully painted picture. If I'm correct, maybe shoot me a reply? : D I'd love to hear from the artist himself/herself!

Many have probably already told you this, but amazing work! It's super realistic, and even when I squinted at the thumbnail, I couldn't tell that it was actually a painting. In fact, I might not have noticed even then, had you not stated it was an oil on canvas. Oh, my eyes, how you fail me. Besides the factor of my horrible eyesight, this is shockingly similar to real-life. You seemed to have made an effect on your viewers, though, for all of us appear to be curious as to why there's a piece of - what seems to be - some kind of bread. Why it's there doesn't really have to matter much for me, though, because the first thing I thought when I saw it was that it looked delicious. Then, of course, why it was there.

I get this as a sort of comment on how prayer brings life (bread) but I could be wrong. Nevertheless, great colors and shadows. I love how you carefully divided every page on that book. I couldn't tell what the bread was at first, though - then again, that may just be me being weird. This is a really fantastic, symbolic piece.
