It was in Ap. Priority mode, but not what I wanted. I had just come inside from a sunny outside and not dialed down the aperture, so the camera bumped up the ISO.

yeah, I know. I'm used to auto f-stop or auto shutter speed and fixed ISO.

I usually work in AV mode. Now I've been practicing with full manual on static subjects.
