Not to mention strange; Tasmanian Ravens (or any ravens, for all I know) aren't supposed to have blue eyes when adult. I was talking with about this in a thread on another photo from this day. I t may be the late afternoon sky reflected in the eye, but whatever the reason it looks just the same in over a half dozen photos I took.

Could it be a juvenile Raven? I'm not sure at what age their eyes change color but maybe this one is just young? Though it's probably the wrong time of year for that where you are? It's quite the mysterious bird, that's for sure.

I don't think so. Was a pretty large, stocky bird. I'm sticking with the reflected light theory, which would mean the eyes would actually be whitish, I guess...
