I was the printing supervisor for a plant that makes bags like for pet products, feed, seed, etc? But recently I became the Continious Improvement Coordinator for the plant. So I do Safety, Quality and Improvements. Lots of paperwork, presentations, documentation, etc..I still am just learning, they fired a guy and I am doing his and my old job both..

Unfortunately, though I was promised to get a big raise for this, they had a salary wage freeze this year, so they did give me a nice bonus to compensate, but it still screws me out of my wage because it is not permanent. I talked to my boss about it today, he basically said the new position has a higher ceiling, and as a printing supervisor, I was already at the top of my payscale. Then it came down to, "just be happy you have a job". I said, "I guess if the company cut my wage in half, I could still look at it that way, but dont give them any ideas!"^^
The other guy was not getting along real well, but basically they eliminated the position. All of our plants are going away from Safety and Quality positions, and doing CI. I was already the CI person, and I assisted a lot with Safety, and I am basically awesome and a rock star in every way imaginable, so here I am..^^ (That last part may not be entirely true^^...) I dont know what you would consider "paid lots"..it all relative..

I get paid about £60 a week... which is about $110

Yes, I felt bad about it too..when I wrote in an old journal about something that was bothering me a lot, that was it. I knew months in advance they meant to fire him, and I was very sad about it. I also did not want to be part of it by taking over his duties.
Didnt you say you bartend or something like that?
I guess I make about $1200 per week before taxes and 401K, etc...and pretty good benefits..

oh yeah we have pizza hut! I am a good tipper, I know a lot of people arent, so i like to make up for that..

Ahaha its actually harder to get tips here because its not like the american culture.
I know over there its a must that you tip something..
but here its actually the opposite ahaha

Yeah the standard here used to be about 15%, now it is 20%. I usually do almost 25%, but there have been 2 times I have given $50 for about a $28 bill. They really smile when that happens. I felt sorry for a waitress she looked real sad, but she was so happy after that..

Here it doesnt matter how much the bill is, people normally just tip anywhere from £1 to £10 depending on how generous they are and if you gave then great service haha. in your money that would be from $2 to $17'50 ish

old people here often tip like that..a dollar or two..
And I dont want to mention which, but a certain race here is known to not tip. I have even talked to people of that race about it, and they admit it! They will spend all night at a table, make many demands and not tip, according to waiters I know. And often they will complain about something to not pay the bill! I dont like to see things that would reinforce racial stereotypes, I think we should not be racist..

yes i agree totally. Anyway, I think its sad that you dont get tipped better, but is your hourly wage still very low like here? They get less than minimum wage because they are expected to live on tips. Could be you make more anyway if your wage is higher..

Well we get £5 an hous which is like $9 haha idk what the minimum wage out there is for you guys but £5 is minimum here
