When you are having trouble with exposure, you can take two pictures with different exposure settings. When you see those amazing photographs of green fields and clear blue skies, it's usually because they take two pictures and later composite them: The sky usually gives off more light, darkening the rest of the subject, and that's what's happened with this image.

Thanks for the tips! I have a much better camera now with a polarizing lens, which really helps when photographing work
