Description

Micron/Pitt Pen/Crowfeather Nib with digital color--watercolor background.

My school's printing office spat this out in tones of solid red and green. T_T Evidently colleges with astronomical tuiton rates have printers that "can't do different greens."

We had to illustrate "opposites" and I borrowed a very popular Chinese pairing. I've heard somewhere that these two together constitute a marriage symbol...kind of amusing, actually.

And I still draw horses.

Thank you very much! It was hanging up in a very nice spot in the Illustration gallery here at my college, which made the colors glow. Wish I'd taken a picture.

You did really great on the Chinese style, this really reminds me of those lovely paintings that I see at Chinese restaurants around here (and that I spent a long time admiring too!). Beautiful details on the scales and feathers, and I love their shape <3

Thanks very much! Everyone was telling me to go for watercolor and I was like...but they painted on silk too! D: XD

I'm gald you still draw horses, but I'm also very glad that I get to see this stuff, too! The colors are great, I love how they compliment eachother. I also like how you made your style sort of look Chinese.

Hey thanks! Green is apparently very hard to print. xD But I eventually got the shades to come out...decently.

This looks great! I love the contrasting colors, and the dragon and phoenix. They really do seem made for each other!

Oooh, this looks amazing! I love the colours and the movement and all of the details. It sucks that the printer didn't do it justice.

wow, this is so amazing! I was pleasantly surprised to see that a drawing like this was made by you! It's great to see that you're pushing out of the equus comfort zone, that shows such talent and creativity! The bird's feathers, and the dragon's scales are absolutely amaaaaaazing! Not to mention the bird looks stunning, as I find it murder to dry drawing birds' heads D:
"And I still draw horses." lol i love that :3

I love these new, different pieces you've been doing!

I enjoy drawing, period. Horses are my love--when I'm stressed and need to doodle, it's a horse, no questions asked. But I like taking on other projects, and I'm glad you like the results! Thanks a bunch, your comments always make my day! Hope everything's going well for you.

This is wonderful! You really captured the Chinese style, and those colors are brilliant as well as the lineart. I like the tail feathers of the phoenix the most. ...And at my college's art building they have 10 printers of which only one will be working at a time, and it probably does just black and white O_o I think college printers must be diseased.

I theorize that this might have a strong connection to their use by college kids. Thank you very much! I was initially very lost on how to capture that look with such solid colors, so I'm glad to hear something happened during the work.
