sorry for my lack of activity I"ve been extremely busy. The semester is supposed to be slowing down finally however, and next semester is going to be much better for me, I've got fridays off completely I'll try to work at the campus barn though, so I get to play with baby goats yaaaas.So I'll try to be more regular again. I was good for a few months

I have a type of koi called butterfly koi. They have longer fins and tail then regular ones.

I use to buy koi and put them in a fish tank. I could never understand why they didn't last too long until I found out they needed to be kept in a huge tank. So I used a big kiddie pool for two and they seem pretty good.

oh yeah, bigger fish need a small pond almost. Even goldfish need like a 15 gallon tank...but they always end up in little bowls

Yeah one of those kiddie pools. Not tiny kiddie pools but the bigger ones. I have gravel on the bottom, a 50 gallon filter running and a heater for when winter comes. Although I think I will get another heater. The kiddie pool is inside my shed so nothing can eat my fish

No I made sure I did my research by asking the fish experts at the pet store. They said two would be good for that size of a pool. I think diameter wise the pool is about 5 ft or so across. They survived a bad winter last year.
