I like to head-canon that by then Clark would had been with Lois anyway, and wouldn't had been too put off by his best friend dating his exe. He knows how to be the bigger man and just be happy for them.
I mean, I love the WW/Superman pairing... but I also like the Batman/WW ship too. and I kind of detest that love triangle thing they often have in the TV series out there. Quickly got tired of the love triangle subplot that was constantly overused on Smallville, Lois and Clark, The flash, The Arrow, Gotham, etc. Is it too much to ask that the hero actually act like a normal, reasonable person when it comes to their love lives and exes?

I agree. All the love triangles are ruining the shows. The first 4-5 seasons of Smallville was little else then a love story between Clark and Lana, some superfights here and there as fillers.

Yeah, Lana wouldn't had been half bad at all if it wasn't for the writers making it ALL about her. I swear that the writers were completely obsessed with her... so it was like she turned into the Wesley Crusher of Smallville. You know, making her pop up in places or in a story where she had no reasonable justification to be at...often giving her some convolved, amazing skill so that the writers could justify writing her into the scene.
Also, having the characters randomly talk about how GREAT she is when she's offscreen.... even when the said character was recently dumped all over and wronged by Lana. If Lana killed off Clark's dog, sent his severed head to Clark in a gift-box... everyone would have still said she was the greatest person ever regardless of how twisted and sick that action was. Especially if Lana just stared up at everyone with her large green eyes, and said that she did it for love.
*rolls eyes* It's funny how an original character like Chloe Sullivan ended up being WAY better than Lana Lang in every way on a show like that.
