Oh yes! I just reread what I had written and I did say that!
I have no problem with Matt, I think he did great! Those two episodes were just a bit screwdriver heavy. In the classic episodes the screwdriver was hardly ever useful, now it seems to be the savior a lot of the time. Matt qput it away pretty quickly though.

yea well in five and beyond, the guy at the time who was writing said that the sonic screwdriver was always a cheat device but now adays they give excuses why the doctor can't open this or that, like wood or deadlocked, course I think even if eleven didn't have the sonic, he probably could do just as fantastic and I would like to point out is that eight was the one who brought back the sonic screwdriver in the movie. Course I could be wrong?

true but he didn't grab for it I think without the sonic screwdriver he would still be brilliant it would just take him longer. lol.

yes. And he would have to display that brilliance to us more, so I believe that writers shrink away from that because a) they don't have the time to spare, b) They'd have to figure out how to explain to the audience what they're doing (Moffatt would anyway, Davies never explains anything), and c) no matter what, the audience is not as smart as the Doctor and we willnever understand what it is he's doing.

remember in the girl in the fireplace when mickey asked the doctor what it was and said must be a spatial temporal hyperlink, and mickey asked whats that and doctor said dunno just made it up, didn't wanna say magic door. I thought that was hilarious.

I quite agree - the eighth doctor is sadly underrated and unknown compared to other doctors.

Actually, now that you mention it, Eleven is the only modern Doctor to come close to that level badassery so early on.

I have yet to see Eleven as a badass or anything close.

well, to be fair, his screwdriver was broken in the Eleventh Hour. He didnt have a need to use it in the Beast Below, although I am surprised he didnt shine it at his "fish". I'm noticing that fish are a common thing in this season. First Fish custard, then an escaped fish and space whale, and then [link] !/photo.php?pid=4172272&id=47531376765 .

Yeah, I know... but he managed.
Yes, something very fishy seems to be going on. (Okay that pun was intentional)
Uh, broken link. To facebook?
Maybe fish have something to do with the cracks.

maybe. The link was to a photo on Matt Smith's page on Facebook of Amy stepping out of the Tardis with a fish on a platter.

I thought the crack was the "Vote Saxon" of this series. Although Series four had the Medusa Cascade, The bees disappearing, and "There's something on your back", so they may have multiple this time around as well
