Yesterday morning I was with my comrade patrolling this area to make sure everything was alright, for those who don't know, last week there was a huge wildfire in a small town called Pedrógão that spread out through the entire valley, lots of homes, cars, trees were destroyed by the fire. Everything is calm by now, people got back to their homes and moving on to their lives, the scenery is indescribable, from one part there is green vegetation and the other is just mass destruction.
The origin of the fire is unknown to me, some say a lightning struck a tree and started it all, but I believe there is a more "human" explanation to this. In the first day I was there (read "I'm back!" journal) there was not much fire as it was in the first days but it was still dificult, I returned there this past friday, the situation was already controled, we were there to make sure it stays that way. I just cannot imagine the horror that must have been to the population there in the first days, my sincere condolences to the people who lost their lives and their loved ones by the fire
