it's for High Dynamic Range imaging, most people only say HDR, I don't really mind using both, in fact it's the same

I have never done any animation, why?

Well, typically, people say HDR when photographing, but the correct term is, indeed, HDRI. It's something I picked up when I did 3D animation, I was just wondering.
