Description Here's page four of some old sketchbook fan art I did based off the "Dudley the Dinosaur and Friends" cartoons back in the 90's. This one shows more of Dudley's baby sister Dee Dee with a little of there friend Sam Sabertooth. These cartoons were created for the A.D.A. (American Dental Association) to promote healthy dental hygiene. My dentist back then was kind enough to lend me a DVD copy of one of the cartoons for reference. It wasn't easy drawing these characters with out any model sheets to turn too. So I tried the best I could to match Jon McClenahan's style.

I've always been a fan of his work. He was the founder of the american animation studio "StarToons". To learn more about this studio, click here [link] .

I've always noticed that Sam Sabertooth looks ALLOT like Skippy Squirrel from Animaniacs.

Now that I've recently found out that John McClenahan worked on both Animaniacs AND the Dudley the Dinosaur cartoons, the resemblance is even more noticeable.

It's cool right?Β

Although it's kinda funny to mention that the Slappy Squirrel cartoonΒ "Critical Condition" had a T-Rex in it that instantly reminded me of Dudley at the time. That's were things started to connect with me.

Wow. They look really good. Out of curiosity, how well-known IS Jon McClenahan? I was his daughter-in-law's roommate when I was in college.

Thanks for the compliment. I can't speak for everyone that might know Jon McClenahan's work. I'm a fan because I took the time to learn about him, his studio, Sherri Stoner and anything else interesting about him. It's cool that you were roommates with his daughter-in-law. I sometimes wonder what Mr. McClenahan is doing now a days though? Thanks again.
