Description
needed to relax after bombing a midterm today so i decided to experiment with this so called "speed painting." I'm not really sure what speed painting is(how long can you spend? do you need to use painter?). anyway, did this in 56 minutes with photoshop and a wacom tablet.Related content

Haha, if only I could pop stuff like this out in less than hour. I didn't even notice the airship in the thumbnail - I was drawn to this because of the mountain scene, and that ship coming out from behind the clouds really brought this one to life for me.

Oh wow. Well, to me, a speed paint is something you do in a short period of time. Well, at least much shorter than what you normally spend. Assuming that you take longer to do things, this is a speed paint. Also, you just do what you can to it until you see the gist of it. >.>; I don't like to speed paint that much cause sometimes it makes me lose the feeling of drawing.
Seriously, this is really nice. I really love seeing people render pretty backgrounds.

the front part of the ship looks like the ragnarok from ff8. ahh.... i can't draw ships or anything robotic and cool looking.

They say you're supposed to spend about 20 minutes or so, but I guess it's relative depending on how much free time you have.

its very serene to look at. and the term speed painting might be some code for freaking awesome. the detailed simplicity of the sharp colors is relaxing to look at.
on a completely random note for some reason when I first saw the birds, I thought they were those exaggerated sweat-drop things coming off the ship. sorry o_O

It looks kinda half-assed compared to some of your other stuff. Like the snow on the mountains, someone with your level of skill should do better work than this, that all I have to say. But your still AMAZING Buraisuko.

Good atmosphere - nice sense of design and scale.
Speed painting is essentially were one does a digital painting in a fraction of the time one would take to do a fully considered piece - just to covey the feel of a scene or design without getting bogged-down in details. Great job. 
I'm not really sure about the lens-flare here...

it looks pretty good for speed painting, i have 3, but i dont have tablet ;-; and, its like im starting to make "paintings" actually i've never done one in my life (i mean with oils or acrylic for example) ...

considering that this only took 56 minutes, i'm very impressed. i'm practicing coloring right now and i'm very frustrated. with everything.
i envy you. you were able to get the clouds correctly with the lighting and the balance of snow. only thing i would say is to detail your ship a little better.
but then again, it is "speed painting". do what you will. great job.
