fffffff, haven't you ever randomly seen a guy run his hand through his hair and been like DAMN, LET ME DO THAT FOR YOU....it's just me? okay.
i figured Lily just hated when James rumpled his hair because she was tempted to and got angry at herself about wanting to. hah, cause that's the way my mind works.

Some days ago I actually saw a guy doing that and I decided to walk behind him and started messing with his hair, and now we're besties. It was pretty awesome. And I still mess with his hair... It's just perfect!!!! You can do whatever you want and it somehow will look amazing!!! I wish my hair would be like that!!! *pouts* unfair...
