Description This was once a lovely old cottage, housing a family of four. Now only a handful of years later, it's a shell, housing the remnants of family life.

It stands alone with just it's memories as nature slowly reclaims the land it occupies.

A fantastic shot!!!

It is so sad to see such buildings with such charm and charisma, go to ruin - what a shame.

I love places like this.

It's such an atmospheric wee place.
Am heading back down to re-shoot a couple of things later this week.
Want to get as much documented before it falls apart.
The lady who owns it says she is hopeful for a sale soon and it'll likely be flattened.
Now that's sad.

Yes, it looks it too.

Oh no, to be destroyed, what a shame, so very sad.

You actually managed to speak to the owner then - what a shame she's letting it go.

Where is it situated?

The owner is a friend of ours, it was her parents home - hers too for many years, heart renching for her but it's stood empty since her parents death. It's near Stirling. The land all round is being used on one side as farmland and being developed on the other.
She's given me permission to go back as often as I like and I'll give her copies of all the pics too.

Aww, that's so lovely that you can go there when you want to until it's completely gone. Sad that she has to let it go isn't it - something wrong really when there isn't the support for people to keep such quaint and delightful buildings - looks like it was a such a cosy warm home too.

I am sure the photo's you shoot for her, will be well treasured by her.

I like Stirling, the part I saw anyway.

so sad... gives a feeling of hopelessness, a haunting ground full of shadows and ghosts from the past... memories and otherwise... still, it's a wonderful and poetic picture
