They're only temporary; they don't stay in for long enough for any mishaps like that to happen, and I know if I had one, I'd be SUPER careful about anything like that...

This is extremely lovely. I find that the chain looks a little bit more pleasing to the eye than the usual choice of ribbon. You did well with this.

I never understood these piercings. People are supposed to always look like that? And dress over that and all? Or do they take the chains/laces/whatever off and only put them on for special ocasions?

Corset piercings are temporary. They only last for so long (mostly a couple of hours) and they scar and have a high rejection rate.

Absolutely beautiful photo, and a beautifully done piercing aswell. I'm not usually into corset piercings, but I love the way this has been done, particularly with smooth segment rings (Rather than the common BCR) and chains rather than ribbon. I feel the ribbon is a bit 'meh' on the other photos I've seen whereas this photo seems to have more of a story or emotion behind it. Like it's for the art of piercing itself, not "That looks pretty."

initially corset piercings were for show/play only. now with dermal anchors, they can be permanent. minimal trauma to the skin, easy healing, and u have a permanent piercing. o.O
