Description Here we have the Wild Kratts looking up on Africa’s biggest dinosaur: Paralititan.

First discovered in Egypt in 2000, though accidental after a wrong GPS coordinates was set, a team recovered a massive humerus bone. And soon realized it was the biggest dinosaur discovery made in Egypt since Spinosaurus.

Paralititan means Tidal Giant, as the fossil site showed that the area was once a grove of mangrove trees where the animal had died. The cause of death however is unknown.

But they could tell that Paralititan is truly a giant. Likely more than 85 feet long, and weighing as much as 130,000 pounds. Making it the biggest dinosaur ever in Africa.

It was also named after Ernst Stromer who found Spinosaurus a century before. As it’s full name is Paralititan Stromeri.

Paralititan was also the biggest animal in the area called the River of Giants, and alongside its natural enemy, Carchardontosaurus.
