I was feeling in a Star Wars mood, It feels like a universe with nearly endless possibilities being a fantasy in space, and yes I mean fantasy, not sci-fi
"But it takes place in space and they have incredible technology!"
Thank you Strawman, but Space is a setting not a genre, Sci-Fi tends to be about "What if" Scenarios, imagining what the results would be to making a decision that could effect society. What if we colonized an alien planet, created AI, implanted cybernetics in our brains....Fantasy tends to deal with conflicts of ideals and specifically plots of good versus evil.
So back on topic I decided create my own character to use within the Star Wars lore, this is not a Race that is canon in Starwars Lore, I just made my own but the Star Wars galaxy is huge, full of life, and with still many worlds that have not been discovered. I'll call it a Shisha based on the Hindu Shesha, King of the Nagas. They have long serpentine bodies with two arms and vestigial legs that are only useful for helping them prop themselves up when they are standing still.
I'm still working on my character's name and personality but I imagine him being either a Grey Jedi or another organization of force users, yes there are other force users than the Jedi and the Sith, I remember this one group called the Jensaarai who, though not a rule, it was common practice for them to design their armor to be styled on animals that were not overly aggressive, but were capable of adequately protecting themselves when threatened, such as a Reek or Corellian sand panther. They have the order of the Jedi and are willing to protect themselves by tapping into the dark side.
I imagine this character can bend the line between Light and Dark because he's not afraid of the Dark Side of the force so long as it's done with intention and not out of anger, he probably can't use Force Lightning because many Sith say you can't use it until you have fully embraced the Dark Side of the Force...what he can do however is Force Fire! Yes that is a force power and it applies to both the light and dark side of the force, the user can conjure and control fire with the Force!
