Not exactly sure where the idea came from but I wanted to play around with a gender-bender of Bayonetta. Introducing Bayonetto, the male version of the character! And if you're a fan of the character I am truly sorry
After finishing this piece I feel a little bad about not going for an actual Bayonetta illustration because the small thumbnail of the image actually looks pretty cool as a Bayonetta image.
I must say I am not a fan of Bayonetta (the game). I downloaded the demo on Xbox 360 and while I could tell that somebody cool was happening on screen, I had no idea what it was or what I was doing. Or even if what I was doing had any impact on what was happening. And then I died... many times.
Anyway, I do recognize the value of that character's design especially since it seems that the character is having success with both genders, one as a sex-symbol and the other as a symbol of successful female lead character.
This was fun to draw, if a little weird at times

I actually had a similar concept of a male Bayonetta character; you could play Bayonetta and this dude/witch in the sequel. All started with a dream, but evolved into this character: basically a guy, shaggy black hair, square black glasses like bayonetta, and a black business suit with a red shirt; hides two demon shotguns on his legs, but uses a katana as a main weapon, and he uses weave attacks too, (but shorter strands, more like fur) wolves appear xD. I settled on Fenrir as a name for him. Anyways i'm ranting xD
