A Garchomp born a Gible in the wilds of Sinnoh and then soon captured by a wandering trainer, only to then be released into the wilds of Unova after ten years of traveling together, Aquilo has, for the most part, seen many sights. He's ventured lands far and wide, gained experience in battle along the way, and made a friend in a human that would last a lifetime. So how did everything end up like this, with three of his five fins missing and his spikes harvested by humans? Well...

On the day that Aquilo was captured, he was at first very distrusting towards his new trainer, often biting the young man and refusing to listen, yet overtime the human had rubbed off on him, causing his temperament to go down drastically. He was the trainer's pride and joy, the strongest team member, and the most loyal. He was protective of the young man, willing to do whatever it took to keep his trainer safe. The two had traveled together for ten years before they'd gone their separate ways, what with his trainer's health on the decline and Aquilo finding a new home in the wild that he wished to protect.

With the passage of time, Aquilo had been able to defend that territory from poachers, however had he been aware that his very presence was the reason that they were appearing, what with a wild Garchomp being quite the rarity, he likely would have changed his area of living. So why stay? Having found himself a mate, he had no other options but to keep where he was, for now he wasn't simply protecting territory, but loved ones as well.

And yet, after nine years of defending, here he was a shell of himself, stripped of his arm and dorsal fins, the things he saw as his pride as a Garchomp. His family was gone, his strength was fleeting. There wasn't much time left, so with what little strength he had, the Garchomp mustered a final Earthquake before fleeing into the woods with his life, eventually making it to the nearby Driftveil City where he was put under the care of a Pokemon Center. Even so, the wounds left in the Garchomp's heart would never heal, much like the scars he would be left with from the removal of his fins. The once loyal and protective dragon became bitter and distrusting.

For the next six years, Aquilo had essentially isolated himself from the world, forcefully escaping from the center and moving into the mountains. Every so often he would scare off any and all who came near him, both human and Pokemon alike. Yet in that sense of isolation, the Garchomp did have one last wish, and that was to hear his former trainer's voice one last time; to see his face again. Perhaps that would help to ease the pain that the dragon felt, both physically and emotionally. Then, on one particular night, the Garchomp vanished from his cave of isolation, never to be seen again...

Ever since he appeared at the hotel, Aquilo has been both questioning his new surroundings and form while also adjusting to the area. Choosing to take on the role of a bartender, much like his former trainer, the Garchomp now has a new trial ahead of him; figure out why he's here and why he can't seem to remember how he was brought to this strange place.

Extra Info✧ Is able to activate and deactivate his ability at will, however there certain circumstances when Rough Skin will be active without him consciously thinking about it. This includes when the temperature drops, as the ability is triggered similar to goosebumps, when he's upset or angered, as it's a defense mechanism, when in battle, when scared, and when he simply feels on edge. Touching him while the ability is active will hurt to some degree, so please be wary.

✧ Despite his lack of fins, Aquilo is able to swim, granted he isn't as fast or agile as he would be. Essentially his tail acts as a rudder that propels him and aids in changing direction, while his arms act as paddles.

✧ His tail is relatively longer than the average Garchomps.

✧ While he does wear bandages on his forearms, he does not wear any that cover his back. This is due to his missing dorsal fin wound having sealed up, creating a long scar down his back. The other reason for this is that the bandages serve as a type of reminder of what he's lost....plus it's easier to wrap ones arms than it is to wrap ones back.

✧ Aquilo has never once used a Special Attack, which is symbolized by his nonexistent stat of the same name. Having said that, all of his other stats have been honed to average or above average, showing that even though he can't really attack from a distance (barring Earthquake) he can close the gap between him and something while shrugging off a good number of attacks.

✧ Aquilo is more partial to ferals than he is to humans, seeing as it was humans that took away both his fins and his family. This doesn't mean that he hates humans, as he knows good and well that all humans aren't bad, however he is a bit more cautious of them.

✧ Much like an actual shark, Aquilo can smell blood and can sense vibrations as well as electricity, though the latter is a little bit trickier. His sense of smell is his highest, and while his eyesight isn't terrible, it's much better in the dark.

✧ Though he does sometimes wish he had his fins back, he doesn't particularly miss the dorsal fin as he has discovered the art of sleeping on his back, and that has been a blessing to him that he once envied.

Even after he'd essentially lived in captivity for so long, the Garchomp was able to retain his natural instincts and return to the wild.

✧ He may be single, but Aquilo is still very much a widower, so if you try to pursue him romantically, you'll need to be very patient and accept the fact that he may turn you down solely because he's not ready.

✧ While Rough Skin is inactive, his skin and scales are rather sleek and smooth, particularly his scales which will shine a bit in the light.

✧ Aquilo can move his tail freely, but its default setting is a slow sway from side to side, similar to that of a snake's serpentine movements or, well, a shark moving through the water.

In this state, he won't really be able to hear anything, and his pupils will be much more dilated, signifying that he's been overcome by wild, predatory instincts. ✧ His lung capacity is actually rather high, allowing him to stay underwater for a good amount of time before needing oxygen. Think of him as a very big monitor lizard that's a dragon with shark qualities, and you have yourself an organism that can stay submerged for roughly 10 minutes before needing to resurface for air.

Adélaïde Poundton ; SacredLugia :   - "Adélaïde is....hmm, she is rather intriguing. Perhaps what surprised me the most was her fear towards my species, though I suppose given how humans are rather frail compared to many Pokemon, this is to be expected. Aside from that, I enjoyed the brief interaction that we shared to some degree, and I guess I will admit that she does have some charm to her...for a human of course. Her fear of me is also one of her more endearing traits, and if my intuition is correct, she seemed to boast quite the amount of confidence before I informed her of a few things. All in all, I believe that I will come to enjoy her company over time, but for now she's simply another patron that I held a conversation with on a Saturday night."
