I love both the concept and the design. With Steven's shield, Connie's sword fighting skills, and their deep affection for each other, Stevonnie is bound to be one tough opponent. Something tells me the Crystal Gems will need that against the Diamond Authority. . . .
The shoulder pads are freaking awesome!
The background is breathtaking as well. With all those soft pastel pinks and blues, and those beautifully rendered gems and how they refract light. Very well done!
I won't be surprised if this does eventually happen.
However, there is an interesting hypothesis that might cause Stevonnie some trouble. As you may know, Steven is half gem and half human, while Connie is all human. When they fuse, that would technically mean Stevonnie is 75% human and only 25% gem. He/She would definitely possess Connie's sword skills, but would he/she have trouble summoning Steven's shield? What if Steven struggles to bring it out?
I'm not really sure what would happen. Things get . . . kind of blurred whenever Steven and Connie fuse. Gems have no gender, and it's hard to tell where Stevonnie would fall into which category seeing as she's the combination of both a male and female. It's also hard to tell whether Steven or Connie or both are in charge when their fuse, seeing as they both share the same mind and body.
(Laughing) Man, it's fun to hypothesize what we don't know about! Thanks for creating this piece and for giving us something fun to think about!

i can honesty see this being a season finale. Picture this:
Yellow Diamond coems to Earth, kicks the crap outta the Gems and takes them back to Homeworld. Steven manages to escape and now must mount a mission to HW to save them.
Connie comes along( sneakly since Steven did not want to endanger here) and in order to better blend in they fuse into Stevonnie. they get to see a bit of HW and how their society is and it ends in a battle between Yellow Diamond and Stevonnie to save the CGs. Stevonnie defuses and everyone freaks out.
It just writes itself
....Or Stevonnie after seeing how the supposed HW caste system is decides to help a fledgling resistance group out to change it and starts up a second Rose Rebellion
