Description
Inspiration comes from so many different places. I started this one when I was listening to music. Go figure... I didn't want to do the film version, however. As much as I like the Phantom in the film, I couldn't resist the urge to design a cool tux, with a matching cape.
But he's definitely a Andrew Lloyd Webber Phantom. So here it is... enjoy!Photoshop 6; Painter 8
Update 7-27: I reworked the doves. Now they look less like Mustang P-51s!

I love how the rose is the only thing colored. The shadow of the birds is a nice touch, also. Along with the rose, the birds, and the light beam focused only on Eric, it gives an overall feeling of loneliness. The expression on his face is perfect, also, a mix of sadness and regret. Altogether, a very lovely piece!

That looks pretty close to the original Gaston Leroux Phantom. Of course, since the book has no real illustrations, it could look like anything. But I like the tux look.
