this is a great portrait, yo. it has great selective focus and composition. the only thing that is distracting is the pattern on his shirt. the tonal scale in the picture is wonderful but could benefit from more darks. maybe if he was wearing a solid dark shirt it would complement the dark in his hair and eyes and pull him out of the background more. i like it tho. you did a great job capturing a very natural ease in his smile.

haha well you made me look at it again with that reply, none of this deters from the fact that its a likeable shot but here is what i spotted on a quick second glance, so as not to get to over critical, and here it goes:
as far as i can tell the focus is all in the wrong place, ie the front of his collar and not his eyes as it should be in most pictures, that is unless youre going for that look.
ohh and theres a spec on his lip
