Chapter 8
"Hardest emerald my ass," Tearus says throwing away the knight's shattered helmet.
"Where's the other one?"
"I buried him under some rubble but that will not hold him for long."
"Men our captain arrives."
"What?" Karkinos was still on top of the balcony alone.
"Erymanthus," Tearus says.
"Look's like he could stand by and wait any longer."
"Here he comes." From the boar came a massive man beast. His body large and potbellied covered with skins of humans. I could tell this from the faces that they had kept. His back covered in large quills. From his mouth protruded large tusks. These were just below large pig like nose. In one hand he held a large grappeling hook that was caked with blood. He then waved the hook in the air and yelled, "Men tonight we dine on crab." He then pointed the hook at Karkinos. "But first we kill the lion and bull." He then points the hook towards us.
The boar cried and began to lumber towards us. "Beast!"
"The knight is back," Tearus says.
Tearus and I stood to back to back. He readied himself. His ivory horns lifted into the air. My black nails glistened as the moon light bounced off them. I lowered my chest and bared my teeth. The pig snorted and then threw the hook. The hook took life and seperated Tearus and I. It moves around us. This sucluded us from the others. "Why are you doing this," I ask.
"Xylong has been taking down all who oppose him and killing off astros is always fun. Now die." He gestures me to come to him. I scratch my head at this.
"Shit!" A great force strikes me in the back. I look behind me to see the bloody hook striking me in my back. After it finishes its attack it retracts back to the rope that surrounded us. I look towards the boar. He waves his hand. I see him swing his arm. I quickly throw up my blades and block the incoming attack. As I blocked the first I saw from the corner of my eyes him swing his arm once again. I quickly place Devil Bringer behind me. The second hook hits me hard in my back. He kept the attack on. As the attacks struck hard on me, I finally began to move. I slid my weapon as I walked allowing me to move until I was free from the attack. The two opposing forces attacked eachother. Just before they struck each other they stop and retract into the ropes.
"What the hell is that?"
"Hog pin. All enclosed in this arena are bound to die."
He attacks. He moves his arms in a symphony like motion. I followed these motions and blocked what I could. As one came I quickly vaulted over it. I sat on top of the rope as it retracted. Erymanthus called more to my location. They rapidly attacked. I flipped and and rolled through the attacking hooks. This Hog Pin was a festering world of bloody hooks.
I moved farther into the sky layers upon layers of hooks assited me with this. Far above the deck I looked down to see the boar in the center of it all conducting the symphony of hooks.
"Now fall." The hooks fire into the air above. as they came I raced along them vertically. They came. I enhanced my speed with fire and moved faster and faster until I was a giant ball of fire in the sky. I finally jumped and came down straight on the boar. He gripped by enblazed arms. His fingers burned and blackened. I then opened my mouth and let loose a great funnel of flames. He roared in pain. He threw me across the pin. He called hooks from all directions to attack. "Now die."
I avoided one and girpped the weapon. I then let loose a string of fire along the rope. The fire spreads taking size of the other ropes that opposed me. They loss speed and then loose thier power. I then took up severla retracting ropes and swung on then and shot myself to the boar. Before he could react he had a blade driven into his stomach. He coughs up blood and falls to one knee. "Looks like Xylong gave false hope, boar."
The boar hurries and graps me. He throws me into the ropes. The ropes wrap around me and keep me from moving. He raises me into the air. "Xylong this good enough for you?"
"Yes." He was here.
Xylong entered on a ball of blue fire. This was flashier that what he had done before by far. He was large as can be. A goliath sized being. His body covered in thick black armor. This armor was decorated with silver skulls turned to the side on eaither side of his chest. A thick circular pearl sat in the center. His shoulder guards florished out it petal like tassels coming down his arm to his elbow. From here his arms were made of large dragon like heads that I can tell were growling. His head was deeply set into his armor. His toothy smile creeped across his face. "We have taken the lion," he yells triumphantly. "You will soon join the others."
"So you're Xylong?"
"Yes."
"Good." I open my eyes to show my feline like eyes. My fore arms and shins become black and hotter. Until they gain black gauntlets and graives. My shoulder gain scorpion like stingers as armor. My back gains a segmented black armor look and at the bottom comes a large scorpion like tail. I grip the ropes and tear them away. I drop to the ground and smile.
"I thought this guy was the lion, Xylong."
"Scorpio was never the one to go down easy and I find to enbrace him is easy to fight him. Now." I dig my tail into the wood and move at him. I move quickly running at the two. The boar the more confrintaional of the two takes the attack head on. I gestures with his hooks to protect him. The hook create a large wall for him to hide behind. I slash at the wall.
"It is futile to fight back, Lion."
"Do you know nothing?"
"What?"
"The scorpion's deadliest aspects are its claws and-" He takes a great tail enters the boar's back. He goes into the air several feet. He coughs up blood. He yells in pain. "and the tail." I dig my claws into the air and move quickly up the wall. I look down on him. I then flick him into the nearest wall. "Now where-" I feel a hand grip my face and throw me several feet away. Xylong throws me into the wood. He stands were I once stood. I stand and look at him. I quickly throw at him a large fire ball. He puts his hand out and throws the fire away. I smirk and then climb the wall. I jump up and float momentarily in the air. He grabs me from the air. "So reckless."
"Fool." The legs along my chest begin to move.
"What?" The legs along my chest move quickly attack him at his chest. He drops me. I smirk. "Feeling cocky, lion?"
"Well don't," The boar attacks. He strikes me hard in the side. I fly several feet into the boar which Erymanthus had come from. I lay in the rubble. I could see from my positon the two who had placed me hear. "The lion is ours, men," the boar roars. I lay in the rubble as he laughs and gloats. Xylong stood unwavering from any attacks. I moved to all fours. I could feel him coming. The lion of Babylon. I opened my mouth. Teeth naturally sharpened and my fingers became enveloped in the claws. I roared My face elongated to waht soon became that of a lion. I roared out as my skin became more and more furried. I then let out a great roar extremely audidble. They both look at me. I move quicker than my mind could comprehend. By my body was on auto drive now. I appear on side of the boar. I tried to attack me with his hooks. I quickly grip his fingers and pull his arm. There is a crack. He cries in pain.He moves his other hand. "Attack all out," he yells. The hooks come to his aid. They wrap around my arm. They attempt to move me but I dig my claws into the earth and stand my ground. I grip the ropes and break them. He glowers at me. I move my grip to his forearm. I tighten my grip.
"Now shatter." His eyes go wide as every thing in his fore arm explodes to me. He cries out in pain. I draw one of my blades. Caducui was the best. I dug the weapon deep into his stomach. He coughed up blood falls towards me. I move and look towards the other being who was standing behind the first. I take out my weapon from the boar and look at him. I swing my blade towards him. He avoids the attack and swing his claws at me.
He falls back. "The rest of this fight is futile. The boar was a mistake. I should have kept to my orginal plan."
"And that was?"
"Killing all of you."
"How many have you killed?"
"Let's see Aquarius, Capircorn, Libra, Virgo, and Gemini."
"Aries is still alive then," I ask.
"For now."
Xylong begins to leave. "Xylong don't you dare leave me here." Erymanthus was still alive. He tries to move towards but is stopped. The white knight stops him. The knight jams his finger into the open wound to stop the boar from moving. "Okay I shall prove myself to you." The boar turns towards me and then runs at me. I easily side step him and grab his shoulder. I grab his chin. He yells as I sink my teeth into his neck. I clamp down and tear out his throat. I gulp down the in sides and look towards the dragon. He points towards me. The montrous heads on his arms open and create a large fire ball. The cannon ball strike through the haul of the ship. He laughs and begin to leave with is knight at his heals.
I slowly turn back. "Huh."
