Description Hmmm.. a quick one but I think I covered most of what there is. I hope it's easy to understand, I tried to make it as 'I just moved from MS Paint to Photoshop' XD as possible, but things that seem obvious to me might be hard to understand for others, so if something is unclear, tell me. You can use the brush if you want, just copy this pic and define it as described there

More comming sometime, maybe even soon.

GASP!! seriously! well i got it since it came with my tablet.. the software was included in the packagge along with art rage and corel draw... sighs.. now i have to get the actual photoshop.. which one is the best in your opinion? what version is advisable to buy?

calleena In reply to Dicegirl14395 [2012-12-04 20:43:38 +0000 UTC]

honestly, my country doesn't exactly support copyrights xD so I did try a few versions but I have no idea how much they cost, for me that would probably be my yearly income but for you perhaps it woulnd't
so I had 7.0 and it was good, I didn't even really see any difference between it and CS2, I've also used CS5 but it was too complicated and too slow for me
and as for the brushes, if you want them to work I think anything CS1+ would be required

Why are all good tutorials for photoshop? ;; I know it's good and all but I'd like to learn how to do this with SAI XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

calleena In reply to PaleWitchKnight [2012-07-04 09:48:02 +0000 UTC]

It's impossible to do this in sai because it just doesn't have any tools for brush making. Therefore- no tutorials XD

Hey great tutorial! I've been looking for ways to make cartoon-looking grass, not too realistic but not just a flat green plane either. This is perfect for some comic and animation stuff I have in mind. If you ever do anything similar about trees, water, and dirt textures, that would be cool

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

calleena In reply to Matsuemon [2012-02-28 22:48:12 +0000 UTC]

I only have one about wood texture. I'm not really super skilled yet, going step by step, and trees are still before me
buuut, water, I can suggest lots of photo reference. It's dark and reflective in more distant places, especially near the ground, but near the viewer's eyes it's more transparent, you can see some fish or sand and pebbles if it's shallow, the rest would just be a soft brush with some glitter-like spots of light

and making something look more cartoon like is often a matter of just chosing cartoon colors
