That is a wonderful poetry and conveys Β things I remember; sensual, visual, scents.

This is a beautiful piece. The last line really struck me--I think a lot of us want that for ourselves. Very well written.

Kinda one sided . . . there's a lot more to California then the cities.

Can't help you there, I lived in California for about five years when I was very, very young, and this poem was based off of my impressions from back then.

Hmm, interesting! I've crossed the GG a great deal of times, so I've gotta tell you - they actually have a suicide net under that bridge because apparently a lot of people tried to jump.

Yeah, they have that across the Bay Bridge too, which is the other - frankly less famous, but better with traffic - bridge. There's so many people walking across it at all hours, and the railing is low enough that I'm not surprised they have a net.

Ah I only remember the old (ugly) Bay Bridge (which wasn't so great with traffic either), but they have a new one up now I think.

It depends on which one you went on. Traffic can still get bad though. This one has an upper and lower layer, with one flow of traffic going into the city on the top, and traffic leaving the city on the bottom, I think, or vice versa (since I use the GG more). I just think the Golden Gate isn't as fast as the Bay Bridge because it has less lanes and more tourists, so you get a lot of people just stopped on the side of the road taking snaps of the city. They get herded off by highway patrol pretty quickly though, haha.
