Her seer mother Delphi had a vision that Cassiopeia would bring misery to thousands of dragons and destroy the world. The Hazes ended up throwing her out as soon as they could. She hasn't looked back. Nowadays, she isn't sharing her wealth with them. She owes them nothing.

Phi is the one exception. Cassiopeia feels kind of sorry for her sister's crippled daughter. As next of kin she's technically Phi's guardian, and she's been quietly paying for Phi's rent and medical bills and stuff. This has been happening for years on the DL - Phi has no idea and probably wouldn't accept the money if she knew.

When Cobalt was a young islander SeaWing, PyrrhiCorp had a bad oil spill that ruined his reef home and killed one of his sisters. The whole sequence of events inspired Cobalt to get off his butt and go to college. Now Cobalt has some unfinished business with PyrrhiCorp.

She hates being called Cass. Her family used to call her Cass.
