Finally finished a Princess Mononoke tribute I've been meaning to do since forever. π Tried my best to give the Kodama spirits their own little personalities~ (watercolor, ink)
Inspired by two of my all-time favorite artists, KmyeChan and Charles Vess. (and Miyazaki of course!)

I love this! Especially cause it is done in a very individual style but still manages to catch the character of that movie so well!
Howl and Mononole are my favourite ones too. Though I also like Ponyo a lot, just for the art, just makes me happy to watch.

I really love this, you make the designs shine in their own way while placing them into this beautiful environment. It reminds me of these old wall paintings or carpets that display stories .... I really love it <3
I especially love the colors and placement of all the various objects. The colors make everything seem harmonious while the lights of the waterfall and the forest god make it all look so amazing ... it's just a sweet painting and I love it for that <3
My favorites of Ghibli are Ponyo, Howl and Mononoke but I love every single on of time which each their own identity and lovely aspects <3

Yeah, I don't think he will make many movies (Only one and if that's no true than probably not much more as he's becoming older and older) But I do enjoy his stuff, it's beautiful!

Love this artwork, but not just because of the original anime - which is one of my favorite anime ever, as well as Ghibli ones alongside Nausicaa, Laputa, Howl's Moving Castle and Arrietty, though I love pretty much all of the movies made on Miyazaki's ideas, especially the ones with ecological, social and fairytale plot elements. Beautiful idea to show the kodama acting out each of their personalities, because in the original anime the only distinctive traits of them are the physical differences, but not their various personalities as transposed through body language and interaction - not much at least. Also always wanted to see the Forest spirit in a completely green and secluded environment as oposed to the lake open area iΒ the anime, and I especially like how you painted the texture of the trees.And the colors and lighting of this piece are amazing, all in all wonderful art. Thank you for sharing it with us and for making auch a beautiful, well-thought and unique fan art

That's what I love about Ghibli is they're commentary on social issues in such a visual, profound medium. Thank you for all your lovely feedback! I just thought the Kodoma would be more interesting if they had their own little actions for this one. And I know, I love the lake area in the film, but I wish we could have seen more in general.

That's the same reason for me as well for why I love Ghibli movies, their message is so profound yet so subtle, without screaming it, that at the end of a movie I think there can't be a single person with a conscience who doesn't feel at least a little bit guilty about what we're doing, ultimately, to ourselves, because life and nature always find a way. That's why I think getting to see the kodamas as being individuals, not just nature's puppets, really brings that idea forth even better in your work.
