Yes. Makes me think of the many years ago on a family vacation. We were driving from California up through Oregon and to Washington. We made a stop at Oregon Caves, and after taking the tour ofย  the caves, my sister and I decided to take the nature trail back down to the camp. We came around a turn, and there, standing on the trail, were a doe and fawn. We stopped, stayed very quiet. We could hear people behind us, so we went back up the trail to alert them. We all came back down, slowly and quietly. The doe and fawn were still there. So we stopped and watched, and after a few minutes they bounded off. It was a lovely experience.

OOF! That sounds absolutely magical. I don't have stories as good as that, but one summer there was a buck seen several times in my suburban neighborhood (we saw a lot of deer, but males were rarely spotted). One evening, I was in my front yard and I saw him walking under the streetlamps. He crossed into the neighboring yard. I stared at his beautiful antlered silhouette. He stared back. We stared at each other for a bit until I slowly went back inside the house, leaving him to continue his twilight stroll in peace.ย
